Oxford 10 is delighted to invite you to an after-dinner speaker event with Mark Damazer, CBE at The Running Horse, Mayfair on 22 March 2012

Oxford and the
BBC - Public Institutions and Pressure
Speaker bio:
Mark Damazer held a Harkness Fellowship at John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard before beginning his career as a trainee at ITN (now ITV News). He later joined the BBC where, in a
distinguished career, he edited the Nine O’clock News and was in charge of TV News, Current Affairs and Political Programmes. He concluded his BBC career as Controller of Radio 4 between 2004 and
2010. When he left that position to take up his present position as Master of St Peter's College, Oxford, heartfelt tributes were paid to his achievements.
He has chosen to discuss the types of pressure that are brought on two great British Institutions, Oxford University and the BBC, and how they react to these pressures. The talk will raise issues
of significance and contemporary relevance, and should prove a stimulating and fascinating occasion.
