Mentoring Scheme

Mentoring Scheme

Oxford10 is pioneering a new mentoring scheme that links recent graduates with students. The idea is simple: bridge the gap between Oxford students who are soon to graduate and alumni who are already in a job, and support people as they make the transition to life after Oxford.

This scheme is unique in a number of ways. It is graduate-initiated and graduate-run, and is about sharing experiences of working life rather than answering student questions per se. In this way, the scheme complements what the Careers and Alumni Offices are already doing. The long-term vision is to act as a hub for student/alumni mentoring at the university.

To make this a success we need Oxford10 members on board! The mentoring scheme launched in summer 2009, and we are still on the look-out for both mentors and ways to spread the word to final year students. In this context, mentoring means small informal meetings between graduates and students, and several structured social events per term. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, share your experience, and also have some fun, so if you have mentored before get in touch!

Email mentoring@oxford10.com with your name, matriculation year, subject and college, and what sector you currently work in. Please also mention if you have mentored before.

We hope to hear from you soon.
